Food Consumption Patterns Journal Entry

There are definitely factors that have influence on my food consumptions patterns. For me specifically, I have a food allergy that restricts me from eating a lot of food. I have Celiac Disease, or in common terms, I am gluten free! When I first was diagnosed with Celiac Disease back in 2011, the market and supply for gluten free options in grocery stores and at restaurants was basically non-existent. Although the supply for gluten free food is at a much higher availability today than it was in 2011, my options of food to consume is still limited. Besides being gluten free, there are other factors that contribute to my consumption patterns. Being a college student and more specifically a student athlete, my free time during the day is so limited (I truly don’t have any me time during season)! Due to the lack of time I have between classes and before lift/practice, I find myself eating on the go, rather than indulging in a full meal. Snacking on cheap foods (college student budget) that are available around campus or that I have in my room, is essentially my main source of food during the day.
